  • 2010-02-11T11:29 Removed File upload feature
The simplest way to achieve simplicity is through thoughtful reduction."""

I wont claim it was thoughful, but I removed the File upload thingy. I never used it, it probably contained 100s of bugs. Go use github, bitbucket, google docs, etc if you want to put files online.
  • 2009-08-13T19:06 Some changes I've recently added bibsonomy support (see http://gromgull.net/blog/2009/08/integrating-bibsonomy-into-koble/) and I've restyled the whole thing. I wont pretend it's nicer now, but at least it's different.

  • 2007-11-20T11:31 Back online! After a few days of hassle, a server reinstall at Suse 10.3, a python upgrade, some trouble with Berkeley DB, fighting with Python easy_install etc. we are back!

A few things are new and interesting:

There are a few other changes as well, many probably introduces bugs, so when things break, don't be surprised :)
  • 2007-11-19T00:04 Broken server :( Recently we made many changes, and it should be possible to make things publically viewable! That is, in theory, or on a test-server. We are having some problems with the python version on our current server, upgrading it brings on many other changes (damn Suse!) so we'll be completely broken for a few days. Sorry!
  • 2007-07-19T14:36 I18n Now you can add things with international characters in the names!

It's still a bit broken, wiki links for instance do not work very well, but the basic functionality is there.

I've also added wiki-backlinks to thing pages.
  • 2007-07-16T16:36 Sign-up with just OpenID I realised that only allowing sign-ups using FOAF is a bit restrictive, so now you can also sign-up using only OpenID. This means you miss out on the other cool FOAF features though, like... ahem... yes, well, they are coming. :)

  • 2007-07-12T11:53 Google-maps integration Now you can place your things the map! Click the "place this thing on the map" link on the right sidebar and you will get a google-map. Double-click to place your thing. You can then revisit the page later and move the things about by dragging them. It's easier and more fun than it sounds :) Try it!
  • 2007-07-09T14:47 Public at Last! After some technical issues, Koble.net is actually accessible from outside DFKI! Yay! That does of course not mean that is it stable or working in any way. Feel free to sign up and play around at the moment, but don't be surprised if all your data suddenly disappears! :)

    Have fun!

Welcome to Koble!

koble

Koble is tool for keeping track of things that you work with. It is part wiki, part bookmarking tool, and part file-repository. Koble was born from the idea of the Semantic Desktop, and could also be seen as a lightweight Semantic Desktop solution with no desktop-component :)

Feel free to browse around as an unregistered user, but to really see what is going on you should really sign in or sign up if you do not have an account yet.

If you don't want to take part you can read about koble in the help pages!

If you any comments, criticisms or questions about Koble, I would love to hear from your at gromgull @ gmail . com!
